Hollywood icon becomes latest celeb to launch their own booze line
HOLLYWOOD hardman Jean-Claude Van Damme has become the latest celeb to launch their own whisky.
The martial arts star, whose films include Double Impact and Timecop, yesterday helped kick off Irish brand Old Oak.
Bob Dylan, Drake and Conor McGregor have similar deals along with David Beckham and Rod Stewart.
Actor George Clooney sold his tequila company Casamigos for £574million in 2017 while Ryan Reynolds’ Aviation Gin was involved in a £500million takeover in 2020.
Belgian-born Van Damme, dubbed the “Muscles from Brussels”, said he had aimed to buy into an American bourbon before falling in love with “the charisma and warmth of Ireland and its people”.
The launch at a craft distillery outside Belfast came on his 63rd birthday.
