EastEnders’ Shane Richie and Jessie Wallace get ‘drunk’ as they go head-to-head on Lip Sync Battle UK
The stars took got into character for the competition show
EASTENDERS fans will nearly get to see beloved characters Kat and Alfie Moon battle it out in an upcoming Christmas special of Lip Sync Battle UK.
Actors Shane Richie and Jessie Wallace go head to head on Tuesday night's show on Channel 5 and almost appeared to channel their characters as they got into their chosen songs.
The pair are a long way from Albert Square as they performed A Fairytale of New York with their own unique twist.
Jessie covered Shane MacGown's part while Shane sang along Kirsty McColl's vocal parts.
Shane then went on to perform Flo Rida's hit, Low, much to the amusement of the crowd.
The pair follow in the footsteps of the likes of David Walliams, Alesha Dixon, Carol Vorderman, Michelle Keegan and Jason Manford.
Shane is no doubt keen to follow his success of 2003 number 2 hit I’m Your Man – but he has strong competition from his sassy on-stage wife.
The pair have filmed together for years, and have even begun filming an EastEnders spin-off following their recent exit, as well as a hit pantomime show.
But who will steal the music crown this time round?
The special episode has been set up to tease the second series of the UK competition, which is set to start in January 2017.
Meanwhile, earlier this year Kat and Alfie left Albert Square after winning the lottery and her finding out she had a long lost son.
They are set to star in an EastEnders spin off called Redwater.
Due to air next year, the six-part drama will see the duo find themselves in a sleepy Irish fishing village where they believe they will find the now grown boy who Kat gave birth to 32 years ago, but never knew existed.
Lip Sync Battle UK Xmas Special will air at 10.35pm on Tuesday, December 20
