Dig in

The Grand Tour enjoys a Finnish Christmas in episode six… but not before a VERY deliberate dig at Top Gear

Jeremy Clarkson and Co got Christmassy in Finland for their latest episode

THE Grand Tour heads to Finland for episode six... but not before making a sneaky dig at Top Gear.

In the latest trailer for the Amazon Prime show, hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May settle down for some festivities in the Baltic country, but not before a clip shows a red sports car driving steadily past London's Cenotaph.

Eagle-eyed viewers will no doubt see this as a little dig at the trio's former motoring show, which was taken over by Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc following their departure in 2015.

The new hosts of the BBC series filmed an ill-advised stunt outside the war memorial, with the former Friends actor performing wheel spins on Whitehall in a black Ford Mustang, leading to criticism the programme was being 'disrespectful'.

Away from the little side swipe at their former show, Jeremy, Richard and James were getting into the Christmas spirit, decorating their studio which was set up in among the snow covered countryside.

James presented Jeremy with a pair of rocket skates, which the 56-year-old gamely tried on, but soon found himself careering into the audience.

James joked: "Look out girls! Mr Darcy’s arrived."

Elsewhere in the trailer, Richard and Jeremy headed to Somerset, where they raced each other in more fancy vehicles.

As Jeremy pulled alongside Richard and eyeballed him, the 47-year-old decided to leave his co-star in his dust.

He said: "What I’m going to do now, is lose him".

Richard then swerves across a lane ahead of a lorry and zips off down another road to get away from Jeremy, laughing with glee the whole time.

The Grand Tour episode 6 will be available to stream on Amazon Prime on Friday, December 23.
