I’ll always love Dani Dyer, but I couldn’t be the man she needed because of my daily drug addiction reveals Jack Fincham

He had the world at his feet with Dani Dyer on his arm when he won Love Island, but soon his life spiralled out of control

JACK Fincham has revealed his drug addiction meant he couldn't be "the one" for his former girlfriend, Dani Dyer.

The 31-year-old was secretly struggling with crippling anxiety after winning Love Island 2018.

He self-medicated with Class A drugs including cocaine, as well as xanax and diazepam to "escape" from life.

At his lowest point in 2020 he thought he was "better off dead" as he took 30 diazepam pills a day to cope.

He's now spoken honestly about his failed relationship and substance abuse battle after going clean in August.

Despite his struggles since splitting with Dani, Jack has nothing but praise for his ex.

"Look, I love her, we had a fantastic time," said Jack, in an exclusive interview with The Sun.

"She is an amazing person. I'm so happy for her and Jarrod - she's got two or three kids now I think and that's amazing. She'll be an amazing mum.

"I just clearly would never have been the person for her - for that - at this stage."

Instead, Jack is holding off on getting into another serious relationship - despite romance rumours with Chloe Brockett.

"I need to work on myself now," he adds.

"I've always worried about bringing other people down.

"That's why I wouldn't entertain getting a girlfriend until I feel like I'm in a place in my life, and my head, that I'm happy with."

Jack and Dani split nine months after leaving the villa and Dani went on to reunite with her previous boyfriend Sammy Kimmence.

Shortly after the couple welcomed a baby boy named Santiago, Dani was left as a single mum when Sammy was jailed for swindling pensioners out of thousands of pounds.

Dani has since found love with West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen and she gave birth to twins in May this year.

Meanwhile Jack has secretly spent time in rehab and been arrested three times for drug-driving.

After being handed a 36-month driving ban and given 60 hours' community service, Jack has vowed to turn over a new leaf.
