Who is Josie Gibson’s ex-boyfriend Terry and why did they break up?

JOSIE GIBSON found fame on Big Brother but is now beloved by many for her presenting on ITV favourite This Morning.

The star, who was confirmed as a contestant on the cast of the 23rd series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here in November 2023, has been open with fans about her love life throughout her fame, including her past relationship with a man named Terry.

Who is Josie Gibson’s ex-boyfriend Terry?

Josie Gibson began dating her ex-boyfriend Terry in 2018, with the pair being spotted for the first time together in May of that year.

Terry is a property developer who is 15 years older than Josie.

Despite his ex’s fame and popularity, Terry stayed out of the spotlight during their relationship so not much is known about his own life.

Why did Josie Gibson break up with her ex boyfriend?

Josie has opened up in the past about her split from Terry, which happened just months after they became parents to son Reggie in 2018.

The breakdown of their relationship has been put down to arguments they were having, and came after Josie admitted that Terry had been sleeping in a campervan outside their house.

In an interview with new! magazine shortly after the split, the former Big Brother winner revealed how the break up came to a head after the pair had a row centring around Terry’s OCD.

The This Morning star explained: “He’s got OCD and just after Christmas, he went mad about too many of my shoes being in the hallway.

“So I kicked off and said, ‘Well, we’ll go then!’ And he went, ‘Alright’, and bagged up our stuff, so Reggie and me headed to a hotel.”

Then, during an appearance on Loose Women in 2019, Josie opened up about being a single mum.

She said: “It’s not what I wanted to come back and say.

“I was so proud of our family unit and that we’d done it properly, but yeah I’m a single parent, it’s devastating really.

“It is stressful being a single parent but sometimes it’s easier working on your own and not having someone against you.”

Despite the break-up, Josie has since had nothing but good things to say about Terry and has praised her ex for their co-parenting agreement.

The star, who join the likes of MasterChef critic Grace Dent and Made In Chelsea‘s Sam Thompson on the I’m a Celebrity line-up, said of Reggie’s dad: “Terry has him two to three nights a week and then I’ll have him on the others.

“I would never have been able to do what I’ve done if it wasn’t for Terry.”

Does Josie Gibson have any children?

Josie is a mum to her and Terry’s son, Reggie.

The former couple welcomed the little boy in September 2018.

Ahead of her debut on I’m a Celebrity, Josie revealed how hard it was to leave Reggie behind.

She said: “It was really emotional saying goodbye…I can’t talk about it, it’s too emotional.”

Before Reggie’s birth, Josie and Terry suffered heartbreak when Josie sadly had a miscarriage.

Speaking about the upsetting time, Josie told : “We were expecting within two months of being together.

“It was a bit soon, but at no point did we talk about getting rid of it…we sadly lost the baby at three months.

“I know you’re not meant to buy anything at that stage but we’d got a cot and Terry had bought wood to build a treehouse.

“We’d got our heads round having a baby so we decided to try again and got pregnant with Reggie within a month.”
