Peter Andre and Lauren Goodger vow to get fit in 2017 while Made in Chelsea’s Toff turns to politics, as celebrities reveal shock New Year plans
Looks like the new year has a lot in store for our favourite celebrities
WHEN it comes to welcoming in the New Year, our favourite celebrities are just like us - making resolutions that they hope will make a difference in their lives.
And Australian pop singer Peter Andre comes in at the top of the list as he admits he was wants to get "fit in my 40s" in 2017.
Peter welcomed his fourth child, baby Theo on November 22 - his second child with wife Emily.
Also dad to Junior, 11 and Princess, nine (his children with Katie Price), the star who was once known for his rock hard abs, told The Sun Online: "I mean I'm 43 now and these kids are running circles around me."
For Alesha Dixon, who's mum to three-year-old Azura, the year ahead will be about getting the balance right.
Alesha, 38, who will host new ITV show Dance Dance Dance in January told us: "I'd say my resolution is to choose future projects carefully and chose quality over quantity.
"I think that's something that's really important - I guess it's what everyone looks for, that balance between work and home life."
Emmerdale actress Gemma Atkinson is looking to see more of the world in 2017.
"My resolution this year is to try and travel to places I've not been to before.
"I tend to stick to and re visit the same holiday destinations so feel I should make the effort to explore new places."
The 32-year-old also joked: "I'd also like to eat less bread but that's probably not going to happen!"
Towie star Lauren Goodger admits she's not usually one to make New Year resolutions, but the reality favourite is set to use 2017 to focus on her health and career.
She said: "I don't really go in for New Year resolutions but I’m sure along with lots of girls, losing weight will be up there - especially after Christmas. I think lots of men and women feel the same in January though.
"To be honest my wish for 2017 is to continue to have a healthy, happy and successful year. I’ll be kick starting 2017 with my own clothing line launch with Coco & Carter (cocoandcarter.com) so that's very exciting and will be my main focus."

And she's not the only one who'll be focusing on fashion.
Love Island star Zara Holland told us her resolution is to launch her very own swimwear brand, Beach Angels, her first fashion project of her own.
As well as welcoming her second child into the world in 2017, pregnant Rochelle Humes is hoping she can make some more time for herself.
The Saturdays singer said: "I'm not entirely sure as I didn't keep mine last year, but it was to say 'no' more to friends, instead of stressing out the whole day that you're going to have to bail on them."
Made In Chelsea's Georgia 'Toff' Toffollo wants to bring her love of politics to a wider audience.
The 22-year-old revealed: "I keep meaning to start a political blog and never getting round to it so that will be my resolution for 2017! It will discuss all the funny and serious things that happen in Westminster, and hopefully help to get younger people more engaged in politics."
She added: "Also planning to take up yoga as I feel like I need to find some zen in my life! "
While Ashley James wants to "be less flakey with personal commitments, and judge people on their behaviours so I don’t get taken advantage of, I have a tendency to see the good in the people who don’t deserve that."
