Vault full of treasures

George Michael has left three albums of unreleased music behind following his shock death

GEORGE Michael has left behind a treasure trove full of unreleased music in his private collection following his shock death.

The singer, who passed away on Christmas Day aged 53, is believed to have stored more than three albums worth of material which he deemed not good enough for release.

His former Wham! co-star Andrew Ridgeley commented on the unreleased music after a fan asked whether any of the unheard songs would ever hit shelves.

He suggested fans may never be given the chance to hear the star's vault full of music.

He tweeted: "GM controlled all his output. I, nor anyone else have the right to transgress that principle.”

It comes after George's 's heartbroken boyfriend Fadi Fawaz shared a link to a previously 'unreleased' song of the late singer.

The Australian hairdresser earlier directed fans to a YouTube video of This Kind Of Love, a song believed to be from unreleased album Trojan Souls.

The LP was the work of both George and close pal Elton John, who began working on material in 1991.

It was scheduled for release in 1993, but never made it to shelves due to George's well-documented feud with Sony.

The lyrics, printed below in full, are even more touching in the hours after the former Wham! star's untimely passing.

One particularly poignant part sees George sing: "This empty house seems to get colder and colder".

The 53-year-old was found dead in his bed on Christmas Day by his devoted partner.

Fadi, 46, and George first got together in 2009 – and remained together up until the Careless Whisper singer’s death on Christmas Day.

The pair appeared to be inseparable, and got together shortly after George’s split with his long-term partner Kenny Goss – who he had been with for thirteen years.

Fadi helped George through a series of personal issues – including a stint in a Switzerland rehab to combat his drug addictions last year.

He choked back tears yesterday as he went for a walk around London’s Regent’s Park, but revealed funeral arrangements were being finalised.
Fadi, 43, said: “Things for the funeral are still being decided — I’m OK. I’m just going for a walk.”

He was snapped at George’s converted Cotswold stone mill in Goring-on-Thames on Christmas Eve and is believed to be the last person to see him alive.

In a statement, George’s publicist said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

Andros Georgiou, 54, fell out with the singer over his lifestyle but dismissed claims heroin had played a part in his death.

He said: “He was feeling better about things and had stopped all the naughty stuff. But there was so much pain in his heart, I think it just gave up.

“He felt like he had let people down, when of course he hadn’t at all — he was the people’s superstar.”

He had arranged to meet at the star’s home with his US reality TV star son James Kennedy, 25, who was also George’s godson.

He said: “We both felt it was time. We would have hugged, probably both have said sorry, then got on with it. I used to say I didn’t want the next time I see Yog (his nickname) to be at his graveside but now that’s exactly what’s going to happen. I’m heartbroken.”

He added: “When we were 20, 21 he used to say he’d die young.

“I’d say, ‘Don’t be stupid, what are you talking about?’ Now he’s gone, it’s devastating.”

As fans continued to lay flowers and messages at that house and his mansion in Highgate, his family issued a statement thanking George’s legion of fans.

The statement said: “The family and close friends of George have been touched beyond words by the incredible outpouring of love for him in the hours and days since his death.

“For someone whose life was ultimately about his music and the love he had for his family and friends, his fans and the world at large, there could be no more fitting tribute than the many kind words that have been said and the numerous plays his records have received.

“Contrary to some reports, there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, and from the bottom of our hearts we thank those who, rightly, have chosen to celebrate his life and legacy at this most distressing of times.”
