FUN FOR ALL THE FAMILY

When is Peter Pan Goes Wrong on TV? Who’s in the cast and where can I see the play?

We’re pretty sure this isn’t what J.M. Barrie had in mind…

IT TOOK West End audiences by storm and even encouraged Hollywood director J.J. Abrams to bring it to Broadway.

Of the back of its success, the people behind the Olivier Award-winning Play That Goes Wrong wrote a festive spin-off, which also became a West End hit.

So much so that it has been recorded especially for TV audiences this Christmas but what’s it all about and when is it on? Here’s what we know.

What is Peter Pan Goes Wrong all about?

The hilariously incompetent and accident-prone Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society set out to put on a Christmas production of Peter Pan.

The play-within-a-play is full of slapstick moments, some dodgy and bordering-on-dangerous props and pyrotechnics as they attempt to bring J.M. Barrie’s beloved story to life.

It is the second production from the Mischief Theatre Company following the huge success of The Play Goes Wrong.

Who wrote it and who’s in the cast?

It was written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, who together with other The London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA) graduates, formed the Mischief Theatre Company in 2008.

The fictional Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society stars Greg Tannahill as Peter Pan, Henry Shields as Hook, Charlie Russell as Wendy, Henry Lewis as Starkey and Jonathan Sayer as Smee.

Joining the company for the TV version – which was filmed before a live studio audience at Pinewood Studios, will be legendary actor David Suchet who will narrate the play.
