What time does Alan Carr’s New Year Specstacular start tonight and who are his celebrity guests?

Alan Carr New Year Specstacular

AFTER his last Chatty Man series ended in May 2016, fans were left wondering if that was the end of Alan Carr’s future as a chat show host.

However the Chatty Man has returned for two festive specials this Christmas.  The first one was shown on Christmas Day – and here’s what we know about the second, his New Year's Eve Specstacular which is on tonight.

What time is the Alan Carr New Year's Eve Specstacular on?

The fun and games begin on Channel 4 at 9pm on New Year's Eve.

Alan and his guests will be getting ready to ring in 2017 - however the show ends before the countdown at 11.05pm.

Who are the celebrity guests?

Alan is joined by a whole host of celebrities.

Danny Dyer will be chatting about his recent discovery that he has royal relatives on the BBC TV series, Who Do You Think You Are?

Also on the show are Strictly star Olympian Greg Rutherford (performing karaoke whilst wrapped in cling film with Danny Dyer), Towie's Gemma Collins, Will Mellor, Laura Whitmore and the one and only Keith Lemon.

Also in the studio are Professor Green and Sinitta, who gets everyone's attention with (apart from her silver platform boots) some shock comments about Brad Pitt (who she dated back in the 80s).

Why wasn’t there a new series of Chatty Man this autumn?

Sadly for fans of the funny man, Chatty Man has been axed after 16 series.

He revealed in an interview on This Morning earlier this year that it was proving difficult to get the celebrity guests booked to do the show.   He said; "Booking three guests on a Wednesday, you've got to have three guests on the sofa and it's just getting harder and harder."

He was also candid about the fact that he was up against Graham Norton and Jonathan Ross, acknowledging that after a BAFTA and two NTAs he'd taken the show as far as he could.

However Alan's not disappearing off our screens for a while yet - he will be working on other projects as his deal with Channel 4 allows him to do pretty much whatever he wants.
