George Michael ‘dreamed of being a father and planned to adopt in 2017 with partner Fadi Fawaz’ before his tragic death, reports claim

The singer reportedly wanted to start a family, and is said to have had the full support of his friend Sir Elton John

GEORGE Michael dreamed of adopting and starting a family with his partner Fadi Fawaz in 2017, it has been claimed in a new report.

The singer and global superstar, 53, tragically died on Christmas Day at his home, and it's now reported he was hoping to become a father in just a few months time.

According to the , the Wham! star had previously put off starting a family due to his hectic work schedule, but it had recently become a high priority for him.

A source told the newspaper: "George’s dream was to be a father.

“He wanted to adopt or use a surrogate."

He also reportedly had the full support of his close friend Sir Elton John, who had sons Elijah and Zachary with partner David Furnish through a surrogate.

The source added: “To not have his own family, he felt incomplete."

It's claimed he planned to fulfill the dream next year.

The singer allegedly told his friend  Geri Horner about his hopes to start as family, but is said to have felt "the timing was never right".

It comes after Elton broke down on stage as he paid a touching tribute to the star.

The 69-year-old was said to have appeared to be in tears as he sang their 1991 collaboration Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me.

Elton paid an emotional tribute to George, 53, while sat at his piano before starting the song.

He told the audience: “I only wish George was here to sing it with me.”

The reports that the singer was left “physically shaking” after the tribute.

A source in the crowd told the publication: “After he sang for George, he turned his back on the audience and was shaking and looked like he was crying. I was in tears and so was everyone around me.

“He received a standing ovation and had to be consoled by a band member before beginning the rest of the show. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house.”

The iconic singer died on Christmas day of a suspected heart failure.

Following the death, Elton said: "I have lost a beloved friend - the kindest, most generous soul and a brilliant artist."
