The 2014 I'm A Celebrity star had to be bailed out by his friend when his black Coutts & Co card wouldn't go through
FOOTBALL’S Jimmy Bullard was caught short buying booze when his credit card was declined.
The 2014 I’m A Celeb joker, 38, spent £200 on spirits but was left embarrassed when his black Coutts & Co card would not go through.
Coutts are the Queen’s official bankers. Black cards are offered only to high-profile clients.
Jimmy joked with staff: “Oh no, the missus must be out shopping again, I’m in trouble here.”
The former Fulham and Hull star was saved when his pal covered the bill at the Liquid Gold shop in Ashtead, Surrey.
A source said: “Jimmy was a bit embarrassed and made a joke of it.
“He even ribbed his pal for paying for him.
“The card was run through the machine a couple of times but just kept getting declined.”
Bullard, a TV pundit and manager of non-league Leatherhead, was unavailable for comment.
