Love Island applications now open as fans rush to be the next Olivia Buckland and Alex Bowen
Olivia and Alex got engaged in New York on New Year's Eve proving love does blossom on the ITV reality show
IF you fancy becoming the next Olivia Buckland and Alex Bowen, then get your pen ready as applications are now open for the next season of Love Island.
Following the success of the ITV reality show last summer, producers are now looking for a host of beauties who are looking for love for the next series.
Last summer's instalment resulted in three couples with Alex and Olivia recently getting engaged and Scott Thomas and Kady McDermott as well as Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey finding love together.
According to TV bosses, the 2017 series "promises to be hotter and sexier than before as producers search for a new group of stunning singles to jet off to a sun kissed paradise ready for the summer of their lives".
Encouraging people to apply, Alex said: "2016 was mine and Olivia’s year and what better way to round it off than proposing to her.
"I’m absolutely made up that my wonderful girlfriend has agreed to marry me. Love Island made our year – 2017 could be yours!”
Earlier this week, Olivia and Alex announced their engagement from New York where they are enjoying a romantic break.
In the early hours of New Year's Eve, Olivia revealed her boyfriend had got down on one knee and proposed in the Big Apple.
Taking to her social media accounts, the 22-year-old shared a snap of the couple cuddling up to each other with her engagement ring clearly in shot.
She captioned the image on Twitter: "Am speechless. Thank you for all your messages. I love him. @ab_bowen07."
While on Instagram she wrote alongside the same snap: "I have no words for how happy I am. My fiance my everything @ab_bowen this was magical. So magical."
Meanwhile Alex shared a close up of Olivia's new bling on her wedding finger on Instagram with the caption: "She said yes" alongside a heart and Statue of Liberty emoji.

The happy couple were quickly congratulated by Love Island host Caroline Flack, who wrote on Twitter: "Congratulations my little lovebugs... LOVE ISLAND WEDDING".
Clearly excited, Olivia replied: "Eeeeek! get ready for the engagement party of the century boo".
Danielle Lloyd also shared her joy at the new on social media, tweeting Olivia: "Congrats my little lovely!! U deserve it" alongside a series of love-related emojis.
Alex and Olivia were runners up on Love Island, losing out in the final to winning couple Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey.
Olivia had previously been coupled with Daniel Lukakis, Rykard Jenkins and Adam Maxted on the show before getting together with Alex, and the couple have gone from strength the strength ever since.
Alex recently moved into Olivia's Wolverhampton pad and bought a cute French Bulldog puppy called Reggie together.
