Mariah Carey’s aides accuse TV executives of disabling equipment on purpose to score bigger ratings after disastrous lip-sync NYE show
But the production company, Dick Clark Productions, rubbished the claim calling it 'silly'
MARIAH Carey's team have hit out at TV executives following her disastrous New Year's Eve show and have shockingly accused Dick Clark Productions of sabotage.
They have since rubbished the claim, calling it "silly".
The diva, 46, suffered a meltdown during the show which saw her botch her lip-syncing and storm off the stage.
However sources close to the singer told that they had repeatedly told TV execs that her earpieces weren't working.
During an interview with Ryan Seacrest an hour before her show, she was seen to be having trouble hearing.
The sources claim that Mariah and her team had complained to TV executives about her eapieces being defunct, to which they had said that they would be fine once she got on stage as they were on a different frequency.
However they claim that when Mariah was in the holding tent for a touch up of make-up 6 minutes before her performance she was "alarmed" that she couldn't hear anything. The sources then said that they told the production team, who assured that it would be fine once on stage and that the tent muffled the sound.
The sources claim that they got on stage to test out the equipment but Mariah was still unable to hear properly and they complained, but nothing was done to resolve the issue.
Her team also said that the prompter, which shows the lyrics of the song and stage cues, wasn't working.
They added that she had pulled out her earpiece in "frustration" to try to listen to the music but the crowd was too loud.

Dick Clark Productions sources refute the claims told TMZ that they were "silly" and hit back saying that she was the one who didn't want to do a sound check, instead choosing to have a stand-in to do it instead.
They added that she should have been able to hear considering the 8 monitors on stage amplifying sound - even without an earpiece.
The sources also claimed that Mariah changed her story by first claiming that the track was wrong.
After the show, Mariah took to Instagram to post a defiant message shrugging off the disastrous gig.
