Susanna Reid reveals she WOULD have a baby at 50 after Piers Morgan brands new mum Janet Jackson too ‘old’
The Good Morning Britain hosts thrashed out the issue on today's show
SUSANNA Reid admitted she WOULD consider becoming a mum again at 50 in a fiery response to Piers Morgan's insistence Janet Jackson was "too old" to be a parent at that age.
The Good Morning Britain pair sparked a lively debate on today's show after news of the popstar's new arrival, Eissa, was announced yesterday.
Outspoken Piers quizzed: "Is this a good thing?" before highlighting Janet will be 70 when her new son is 20.
Clearly taken aback by his comments, Susanna, a mum of three, replied: "I think why not, actually.
"I wouldn't rule it out."
Earlier in the chat, Susanna pointed at Piers and demanded: "How old were you when your daughter was born?" to which he replied: "46 - but I'm a man."
Visibly angered by his comment she put out her hand and said: "What, sorry?
"And that makes a difference how?"
As he giggled at their banter Piers said: "I don't know why, but in a funny way, seeing an old man at the school gates noone seems to mind.
"When women are 70, they're like why has granny come?
"It's just a fact it's what happens."
GMB fans were quick to give the thumbs up to Susanna's candid response.
One wrote: "Yes, tell it how it is!" while another took to Twitter to post: "Well said Susanna and congratulations to @JanetJackson."
Another tagged a GIF image of a muppet putting his head in hands with the words: "Great comeback from to regarding Ages of parents."
One raged: " why do you allow him to say such hateful offensive things, please stop spooking your great show with a tool like ."
