Celebrity Big Brother star Coleen Nolan reveals she was ‘elated’ over Shane Richie’s affair but vows to save her second marriage
CELEBRITY Big Brother star Coleen Nolan burst into tears as she opened up about her troubled marriage, Shane Richie's affair and her abusive father.
The pop veteran spoke about her personal issues in an emotional episode of In Therapy, and her candid confessions left fans crying with her.
Coleen, who is currently appearing in CBB, spoke about the troubles in her current marriage to second husband Ray Fensome, admitting she is save the relationship despite their troubles.
She burst into tears as she spoke about her love for Ray and their arguments, saying: "I don’t want it to fail again...
"I really love him but I always feel like I'm having a go at him… That’s horrible.
"We have a row and I walk out and it drives him mental. I don’t feel happy sometimes, and I have this thing in me...
"I can’t be bothered facing it and I can’t be bothered sorting this out."
"I can’t bare the thought of someone staying with me if they’re not happy – [if he leaves] I’ll get over it."
She also insisted she does not want to leave her husband because they have lost the spark and he "doesn't hold my hand any more".
Coleen called the idea "petty" and explained she wants to work on her marriage.
She added: "I've never really felt good enough for someone... I know Ray doesn't fancy me...
"Oh my God I'm crying, I hate crying."
During the emotional episode of In Therapy, she also opened up about her failed marriage to EastEnders star Shane Richie.
The pair married in 1990, but they split in 1997 when she discovered Shane, 52, had been cheating on her.
She opened up about the affair, revealing she knew Shane was up to something but he convinced her she was just being paranoid.
Coleen said: "He was so brilliant at convincing me I was wrong...
"He would look me right in the eyes... and convince me I was wrong. He made me feel paranoid.
"I remember that feeling of elation when I found out [he was having an affair].. I went 'Yes! I knew it...'
"It was a feeling of euphoria before the absolute devastation hit me – he still convinced me to stay."
Coleen also spoke about the death of her sister Bernie, her abusive father and his drinking, her troubled childhood and her weight problems.
Fans were left heartbroken by her stories, and they flocked to Twitter to express their sadness.
They hailed her as "brave" for sharing her experiences, and flooded her with support.
One tweeted: "I'm in tears watching Coleen Nolan in therapy. kinda want to jump in the tv and give her a big hug @loosewomen."
Another added: "@ColeenNolanTV @NolanColeen Yes I am watching and already in tears feeling all her emotions which she is letting go with the therapist.

Coleen entered the Celebrity Big Brother house this week without her wedding ring after admitting her marriage is in crisis.
It was previously reported the 51-year-old had signed up for the show as a “trial separation” from Ray.
After signing up for the All Stars series, a show insider told the Daily Star: “Everyone is a bit shocked but Coleen has said she will do it.
“It’s a delicate time so after Christmas she might change her mind but she’s very much on board.”
