THE Voice’s Max Vickers may have impressed coaches Gavin Rossdale and Tom Jones during Saturday’s show.

But that wasn’t the 24-year-old’s first time on a TV talent show.

Viewers have recognise the Warrington lad from his first brush with fame on The X Factor in 2011.

Max tried his luck on series eight of the singing competition and made it as far as Judges Houses with Gary Barlow.

The singer sadly then faced the chop as only Olly Murs, Craig Colton, Frankie Cocozza, Marcus Collins and James Michael made it through shows.

Max auditioned for The Voice alongside best friend Mo.

Despite facing a fierce rivalry in the competition – the two blokes currently live together.

The singer’s rendition of Paul Simon’s You Can Call Me Al prompted Gavin Rossdale to push his button and spin for the hopeful star.

Tom Jones also attempted to mentor the star but pushed his button too late.

Mo prompted all four coaches to push their button with his cover of Paolo Nutini’s Iron Sky.

He later chose Jennifer Hudson to be his coach throughout the competition.

The Voice UK is on ITV, Saturday's at 8pm.
