George Michael ‘tried to end relationship to on-off lover Fadi Fawaz many times’ before he died
GEORGE Michael tried to end his relationship with lover Fadi Fawaz several times in the last 18 months, a relative claims.
The star was said to have told his on-off boyfriend not to come to his home as he attempted to sever all ties.
But the family insider said that George repeatedly found himself drawn back to the hair stylist.
The relative added: “On more than one occasion George told Fadi he no longer wanted to see him, but each time they would find themselves back in touch.
“George was so kind and generous, but he said to me many times that his biggest weakness was he could never say no to anything — sex, drugs — he had that sort of personality.
“In many ways he was quite a vulnerable person, because he always said yes. He never stood his ground.”
Reports since George’s death have suggested the pair have been estranged for 18 months.
And Fadi, 40, who found George dead on Christmas Day at his home in Goring, Oxon, has admitted that their relationship was “very complicated”.

But he insisted they were getting back on track and were both looking forward to Christmas.
The exact cause of 53-year-old George’s death remains unclear.
An initial post-mortem was inconclusive and officials are now waiting on toxicology results.
Police say the death is “unexplained” and are treating it as “non-suspicious”.
But officers have not ruled out a criminal investigation if tests reveal he died of an overdose.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: “Where someone dies of a drug overdose, we would seek to establish who supplied those drugs.”
Fadi has praised the police for their handling of the case.
He said: “They have been amazing.
“They have done what normally happens when someone dies. They have not been accusing me, never; they have been very supportive.”
