Tom Holland to make major career change based in the UK despite success in Hollywood
TOM HOLLAND hopes to prove he has serious acting chops, by starring in a new West End production of Romeo & Juliet.
The Spider-Man actor will play Romeo at London’s Duke of York Theatre from May 11 until August 3.
The show is being put on by acclaimed British theatre director Jamie Lloyd whose most recent production was Sunset Boulevard in London with Nicole Scherzinger, which earned him high praise from critics.
Jamie said: “Tom Holland is one of the greatest, most exciting young actors in the world.
“It is an honour to welcome him back to the West End.”
Tom is in safe hands, then, but taking on Shakespeare is no mean feat.

Jamie hasn’t yet revealed who will be playing his star-crossed lover, Juliet.
Naturally, Tom’s real-life girlfriend Zendaya would be perfect for it.
But given she’s expected to spend several months this year in the States filming the next series of US teen drama Euphoria, Tom will have to make do with someone else.
It’s a tough life, eh?
