Phil and Steph were staying in The Founders Lodge before heading off on safari with their guides.

The couple watched a pack of Zebras running around and looked on in awe at the incredible scenery.

But as they approached some giraffes grazing on the planes the pair could barely contain their excitement.

Phil told the cameras: “And the day just kept getting better when Ranger Phillip made our dreams come true.

“Even we couldn’t anticipate how emotional it would be seeing our first tower of giraffes.”

The cameras then turned to show Stephanie weeping and, as she wiped away her tears, she told her husband: “I’m welling up.”

“I’m just going to start crying when we see them again.”

Phillip made no secret of his love of Giraffes throughout the episode, even stopping to buy a print of his favourite creatures.

During their South African adventure, Phil and Stephanie also spent some time exploring Cape Town – trying out local delicacies and walking through its vibrant markets.

The lucky pair also got to visit one of the country’s oldest wineries and they spent the afternoon sampling some of the finest they had on offer.

Alongside this, Phil also abseiled down Table Mountain and continued his safari – venturing further into the wild and to help with Rhino conservation.

Speaking about the trip before it aired, Phil said: “This was a definite first for me.

“And to be honest, I was a little worried at first when I realised how keen bosses were to put me with all these dangerous creatures! But every part of the trip was mindblowing and an absolute dream of mine to do.

“The whole trip was a fantastic experience. I learnt more about wine, I got to see some of my all time favourite animals up close… it was the trip of a lifetime for sure.

“And I cannot wait to see it all again alongside our This Morning viewers when the films go out.”
