Mum of 7-year-old Taylor Swift impersonator Xia Vigor hits back at Piers Morgan for calling daughter’s performance ‘creepy’ and ‘sexualised’

THE mum of 7-year-old viral sensation Xia Vigor has hit back at Piers Morgan after he called her performance as Taylor Swift "creepy" and "sexualised."

Xia garnered online fame after she impersonated Taylor Swift on talent show Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids in the Philippines.

Mother Christy spoke on This Morning about her daughter entering the competition and said she had "reservations about her joining", believing that she might be too young but said that she "was wrong".

She told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield: "She's an extremely smart girl, she's not a normal 7-year-old... she loves to perform."

Christy also revealed that she was "very surprised" that the performance went viral.

Phillip went on to probe her about the "stinging criticism" that she had received, including Piers Morgan's complaint that it was "sexualising children".

But the mum hit back at the viscous criticism, calling it "very judgemental".

She said: "He should know his facts first... I thought he'd be more intelligent than that."

Christy also stated: "As a mother I would not put my child in a position where she would be sexualised... [the programme] is for children."

The mum made a point that the "prize money [was] for charity" and as a "very religious mother" she was "very shocked by the comments".

After being asked about the controversial comments, Xia joined her mum to talk to Holly and Phil.

Xia also revealed that her next song that she'd be singing on the talent show would be Sweet Child of Mine.
Holly couldn't help gush over her cute upbeat personality and called her "gorgeous".

The video showed Xia donning one of the singer’s stage outfits and performed an amazing version of Taylor Swift's hit You Belong With Me.

The little girl – from Exeter, Devon – wore a white marching band uniform, a full face of make up and even managed a costume change half way through her performance.

The clip has now been viewed more than one million  times on YouTube,  reports with viewers claiming she “slayed” her performance.

Even American blogger Perez Hilton is a fan, tweeting: “This little girl doing Taylor Swift is everything I needed right now!! The ending, though!!"

Xia has already won a competition for impersonating Selena Gomez when she wore a brunette wig and sang Love You Like A Love Song.

The video has been viewed more than 300 million times.

Budding star Xia already boasts thousands of followers on Instagram and is a TV host in the Philippines.
