James Cosmo is given eternal immunity on Celebrity Big Brother – as he’s forced to put Speidi up for the eternal public vote in a shock live twist
JAMES Cosmo has been given eternal nomination on Celebrity Big Brother in the latest live twist to the show.
Shortly after Chloe Ferry became the fifth housemate to be evicted from this year's series, the housemates were gathered into a room and were told to pick a housemate for eternal immunity.
Given a minute to make their decision, the housemates then had to explain their vote - with Calum Best, Jamie O'Hara, Coleen Nolan and Stacy Francis all choosing James to remain immune.
After Calum said the actor was a "true gent who's a pleasure to speak to", Coleen explained: "He's been my rock and when the whole world seems to be falling apart - he gives me a reality check."
Jamie was the next to give him the saving vote - which came just after James voted to save the footballer too.
James said he wanted to save Jamie because "he's a great kid and I know he's missing his children, but I want to see him at the end."
Jamie echoed the sentiment and said: "He takes me out of this pressure cooker and makes me feel better about myself."
Stacy was the final person to vote and also voted for James, expressing her guilt at previously voting for him and wanting to take it back.
She said: "He is my heart now and I love him so much."
Jedward was voted to be saved twice by Kim Woodburn and Jessica Cunningham and Jamie was the choice of Bianca Gascoigne and James C.
Nicola, Speidi and Coleen all received one vote each.
However, after being voted to be protected by his housemates, the actor was dealt a devastating blow when he was then told the immunity came at a price - and he had to put someone up for eternal nomination.
James looked devastated when he was given a moment to make his choice, before looking at the ground as he said: "I choose Speidi."
While Heidi looked gutted at his choice, Spencer seemed to take it in his stride, and reassured James as he said: "Thank you. It's a real honour."
James was later seen apologising to the pair again, and being reassured that they were OK with his decision.
James's choice now means that Heidi and Spencer have been cursed with eternal nomination - which means that the housemates can't vote for them, but they will still face every public vote.
The last person to be given the curse was Stephen Bear in last year's Celebrity Big Brother - but he still managed to go on to win the entire show.
Catch Celebrity Big Brother, weeknights at 9/10pm on Channel 5.
