Spice Girl Mel B buries hatchet over hubby and makes emotional reunion with mum after decade of silence
Star, who cut family out her life after they disapproved of hubby Stephen Belafonte, has invited parents and sister to visit her in Los Angeles
MEL B has reunited with her family after a decade of estrangement, the Sun on Sunday can reveal.
The Spice Girl, 41, has finally started speaking to mum Andrea, dad Martin and sister Danielle and has even invited them to visit her in Los Angeles next month.
It’s a huge turnaround for the star - who cut them out her life after they disapproved of husband Stephen Belafonte.
Mum Andrea had spoken of her devastation at her oldest child’s actions and begged Mel to let them back in her life.
She said in 2012: “Half of my family is missing to me. Every day I pine for Mel, Phoenix and Angel.’
The rift meant that none of Mel’s family had ever met her youngest daughter Madison, five, until recently when they reconnected during a London visit.
A source said: “Mel is finally back in touch with her family and everyone is thrilled.
“It was a very sad time for everyone to go so long without speaking but now they are working hard to keep relationships positive and healthy.
“It took for Mel to realise that life was too short to keep this going. She’s really pleased she took the step of finally reaching out to them.
“Mel even had her mum on the set of Lip Sync Battle recently and for Phoenix’s 18th birthday party in Los Angeles next month the family are invited over and are absolutely thrilled.”
Husband Stephen is understood to support the family’s reconnection - despite being a target of both Andrea and Danielle in the past.

Following Mel’s controversial hospitalisation during the 2014 final of X Factor when it was alleged the couple were on the rocks, Andrea tweeted about the stress she had endured, writing: ‘

“On average It takes 30 beatings 4 a woman to leave abusive man how sad more should b done 4 these victims!!”
Stephen and Mel have both denied he was ever abusive to her.
News of the family’s reunion comes as the much talked about Spice Girls comeback has fallen apart.
This month the Sun on Sunday told how Mel was furious after bandmate Victoria Beckham had blocked her, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton from singing the group’s classic hits.
The former Spice Girl, 44, left, revealed his name is Montague George Hector on Instagram yesterday.
Geri, who already has a daughter Bluebell, aged 10, with screenwriter Sacha Gervasi, earlier this month called off a Spice Girls reunion to focus on her family.
