Emmerdale producer hints Robert Sugden and Aaron Dingle could start a family this year
Producer Iain MacLeod has teased fans and hinted lovers Robert and Aaron could become parents
EMMERDALE fans may have some exciting baby news later this year as producer Ian MacLeod has hinted Robert Sugden and Aaron Dingle could become parents.
In a Twitter question and answer session, a fan asked about the couple – affectionately nicknamed Robron – and whether they may start a family.
Iain then replied: “I see no reason why not. Aaron bottle feeding a baby would be cute as heck.”
Fans of the ITV soap were elated at his teaser, with one fan writing online: “I love the idea of Aaron and Robert having a baby!
“This is a brilliant idea.”
Another viewer tweeted: “The tease!!! Imagine though..... a #Robron baby!”
Danny Miller, who plays Aaron, opened up earlier this week about the possibility of the couple - who are set to get married soon - having children on the show.
He told : “Possibly, yeah! I think it would maybe happen a little bit later on down the line, though.
“I think if you're going to adopt a child or bring a child into a relationship – regardless of sexuality – you need to be in a position where you're calm and peaceful.
“So maybe not right now, but when the issues are sorted over who Robert is, who Aaron is, and who Robert and Aaron are together, then maybe.”
The revealed that one particular encounter saw a woman come up to him at a football match for his portrayal of the long-tormented Aaron Dingle – and the pair shared an emotional moment over the story.

Danny told : “It made me more emotional because it was the first time I had met someone who had actually been through the same thing as Aaron.”
He added: “She just wanted to give me a hug.”
Viewers were left heartbroken when Aaron admitted on the soap that his father had abused since he was eight years old.
Danny is now up for an Outstanding Performance in a Serial Drama award at the National Television Awards next week, but admitted that knowing he's had a positive effect on viewers means so much more.
He added: “She said she felt so much better after speaking about it and that means so much more to me than any award.
“The three things I wanted to achieve were somebody telling me that a storyline is hard-hitting, seeing it affect someone who has been through it, and seeing it help them.
“All three things happened in what that one woman said.”
