What is Britney Ever After?
Britney Ever After is a new movie from Lifetime, who also produced the 2015 biopic Whitney - following Whitney Houston's shocking death.
According to Lifetime, the movie details "the tumultuous story of pop icon Britney Spears’ rise to fame, fall from grace and eventual triumphant resurrection, firmly securing her position as one of the world’s greatest entertainers".
Who stars in Britney Ever After?
Australian actress Natasha Bassett, 23, plays 34-year-old Britney in the two-hour movie - which spans from the pop icon's early career and childhood in Louisiana.
The film also covers the Toxic singer's high-profile relationship with 'N Sync singer Justin Timberlake, played by Nathan Keyes, and her parents' divorce.
No subject is off limits, with Britney's ill-fated marriage to dancer Kevin Federline, played by Clayton Chitty, custody battle over her sons, and her spell under her dad's conservatorship all featuring in the film.
What period of her career will Britney Ever After cover?
The movie tracks Britney's story from 1998, after she's released her first single, to global fame - and touches on the infamous time she shaved her head in front of the paparazzi.
Sadly, given Britney's disapproval of the film, it doesn't feature any of her original music - so don't expect to be hearing Oops! I Did It Again if you do watch it.
Natasha revealed how tough it was to channel the singer - calling the process 'extremely traumatic', in an interview with .
She said playing Britney during her most difficult times, battling substance abuse and depression, gave Natasha 'a lot more empathy for what she went through'.
She added: "Her entire life, she’s been chased by paparazzi and she’s constantly being scrutinised and in the public eye, so it’s not normal.
"I really appreciated how strong she is."
When is Britney Ever After on TV and how can I watch it?
Britney Ever After premiered in the United States on Saturday, February 18.
The film will air in the UK for the first time on 26 February at 9pm, exclusively on Lifetime.
