Coronation Street star Georgia Taylor is proud pressure of Toyah Battersby role didn’t mean she ‘ended up in rehab’
The actress admitted she didn't want to mess up her "amazing opportunity"
CORONATION Street star Georgia Taylor has revealed her pride at managing to not "fall apart" or "end up in rehab" due to her career in showbiz.
The actress - who is most famous for playing Toyah Battersby - opened up about why her thankfulness for the role helped her to handle the pressure of working in the public eye.
Speaking to , the 36-year-old explained: "I feel proud of myself that I didn't fall apart and end up in rehab.
"There was a huge amount of interest in the Battersbys and it was crazy at times, but I guess I was always just grateful to be working."
She added: "I knew how lucky I was to be plucked straight out of school and given this amazing opportunity. I always felt like I didn't want to jeopardise it."
Georgia first joined Coronation Street as Toyah in 1997 and took a break from the role in 2003.
However, she returned to the cobbles 13 years later and it was soon revealed that she and her step-sister Leanne’s ex-husband Peter were having a secret affair.
But it was recently hinted that Peter could be reverting back to his old love rat ways after discovering Toyah has been keeping a secret from him.
Peter (Chris Gascoigne) is set to be utterly shocked when he finds out that lover Toyah has secretly been having IVF treatment.
