This year, the UK’s entry to the 2017 Eurovision contest will be picked in a national final, Eurovision: You Decide, which will air on the BBC Two on January 27.

Who is Salena Mastroianni?

Salena appeared on X Factor back in 2012 and following her time on the show she continued to perform, including as a support act for Ed Sheeran.

She is a distant relative of the Italian actor Marcello Mastroianni.

How far did Salena Mastroianni get in the X Factor?

Salena auditioned in front of Gary Barlow and Leona Lewis with an impressive performance of Lady Marmalade, back in 2012.

But she never made it past the auditioning rounds of The X Factor.

What will Salena Mastroianni be singing on Eurovision: You Decide?

Salena will be singing an original song called I Don’t Wanna Fight.

Currently the odds of her being selected as the champion of Eurovision: You Decide are at 16/1 -

Strictly Come Dancing’s Bruno Tonioli, singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor and vocal coach CeCe Sammy will judge the singers at the event at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, with the public voting to decide the winner.

When is Eurovision: You Decide on TV?

This year, the UK’s entry to the 2017 Eurovision contest will be picked in a national final, Eurovision: You Decide, which will air on the BBC Two on January 27.

The preliminary dates for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest have been released and it is expected to take place on Saturday May 13.
