The NTA Award winner hinted at another fling with the fans' favourite
CORRIE star Faye Brookes has dropped a HUGE hint her character could reignite her lesbian romance with Sophie Webster and confessed she "likes the idea" of the pair getting flirty again.
The actress, who plays Kate Connor on the cobbles, picked up the Best Newcomer accolade at this week's National Television Awards and gave fans a glimmer of hope she would find a spark with Sophie when she returns from America with sister Rosie (Helen Flanaghan).
Faye, 29, told Lorraine Kelly on today's Lorraine show: "I like the idea for the character if there was always something there (with Sophie).
"It teases the audience. I do think she has a soft spot for Sophie."
She added: "There's so much more to discover. Bring on 2017."
Speaking exclusively to The Sun at Wednesday night's NTAs she gave a further hint there could be more to come in their love life and added: “I hope Kate and Sophie have a romance.
Sophie is Kate’s Achilles heel. It’s a beautiful connection they have. But whether they will ever be more than friends, or not, you never know.”
Faye is also excited about the possibility of an on-screen liaison with Sophie’s sexy sister Rosie when glamorous Helen Flanagan reprises her role next month.
Faye said: “Kate will like Rosie — she’ll think she’s hot.
“It’s nice to tease the viewers. I love Helen. She’s gorgeous. I can’t wait to have her back.”
The Manchester lass today added her character would now be in the midst of a plot to discover whether Jenny was her actual mother.
She gushed over her character to Scottish host Lorraine, revealing she had been on the Corrie cobbles for more than a year.
She said: "I'm as proud as punch. She's a very complex character.
"I am so thrilled to play her. I love her."
