Man United legend George Best’s widow Alex reveals the footballer still ‘lives with her in spirit form’, moves the furniture and is stopping her falling in love
GEORGE Best’s former wife Alex believes his ghost lives in her house and has “followed” her from two previous homes.
Ex-model Alex reckons the football legend’s spirit has been with her since his death in 2005 because of spooky goings on in the properties.
Alex, 44, claims that for years he has moved her furniture, hidden her keys and mobile and switched lights on and off. He was also stopping her falling in love again.
Alex was told by a medium that the Man United legend, who died in 2005, loved her too much to leave.
She was given the spooky reading this week by American medium Michael Codori after a number of strange happenings in her home.
They included car keys and her mobile phone going missing, lights switching on and off in her Surrey house, and furniture being moved.
Alex said: “It was a lovely surprise that George came through. Michael gave me details of a very special and personal occasion that was only known to George and myself.
“It was about when we had first got together. We had no money and George had bought me an engagement ring that was a token gift. When our finances improved he actually bought me a new engagement ring at Christmas.
“I had seen a ring and showed it to my mum in the shop. I said to my mum can you get George to buy me that diamond ring. It was just so beautiful.
"George made a song and dance about it saying ‘Oh no, I’ve not bought you that!’ but he had.
“Michael said that on my mum and dad’s Christmas tree there was a little bundle that I didn’t actually get given on the Christmas Day morning.
"Michael said George had put the bundle inside a purse and put that on the tree. I remember George saying to me, ‘what about a really nice purse?’
“Michael then said George had put the ring inside the purse and that George gave it to me later in the day. It was the ring I’d wanted.
“For Michael to give me such incredible detail on such a personal and intimate moment absolutely blew me away. I was speechless. It could have only come from George.
“He told me that George loves me too much to leave. That makes sense as I have never had a relationship work out since George died. I can’t move on, something stopping me from moving on. I think it’s probably George.
“I do believe there is something in it, but I don’t believe you should live your life by it. Too many things have happened over the last 11 years that have been witnessed by a lot of people, even my dad will say: ‘well that’s George’. Often furniture gets moved that is too heavy for one person to move, but it’s been moved.
“I’m living with my ex-husband.
"It’s been going on since he passed away.
"This is the third house I’ve lived in and it’s still going on.
"He’s followed me, he’s part of the furniture. It doesn’t bother me really.”
