Stephanie Davis insists she won’t be ‘pressured’ into a DNA test by Jeremy McConnell as she plans to get the results in her own time
The Celebrity Big Brother star also insisted ex boyfriend Jeremy hasn't been in touch with her for nine months
STEPHANIE Davis has insisted she won't be "pressured" into doing a DNA test by Jeremy McConnell as she plans to get the results in her own time.
The Celebrity Big Brother star has always insisted her ex Jez was the dad but he sensationally claimed it wasn't his child and demanded a paternity test.
Since Steph gave birth to baby boy Caben-Albi, there have been a slew of reports about who the father is with both Marnie Simpson suggesting Scotty T could be the dad and Steph's ex Joshua Ritchie hinting the baby could his.
But Steph, 23, hit back and said she won't be "pressured" into rushing into a DNA test.
Speaking to during her first interview since giving birth, she said: "My son is one hundred per cent Jeremy's baby - and a paternity test will prove it.
"Jeremy said a long time ago that I wasn't even pregnant, and then that he wasn't sure if he was the dad.
"He had to stand by that throughout my pregnancy."
The 23-year-old said she will have the test done in due course and it will be kept private.
She explained: "That's in the process of being arranged, but any tests that happen will be dealt with privately.
"I'm a new mum and dealing with all that brings, so I will deal with everything in my own time and I won't feel pressured.
"My priority is bringing up my son and giving him all the care and love he needs."
Speaking about the birth, Steph revealed she was terrified when baby Caben-Albi had to be taken to the neonatal ward due to an infection.
Steph also revealed she filmed the birth so she can watch it back.
The former Hollyoaks actress also credited her baby son with saving her life as she spiralled into a dark depression last year and considered taking her own life.
Steph admitted she felt suicidal following her break-up from Jez and says the pregnancy gave her something to live for.
She also revealed she came up with the unusual name while on holiday with her mum but did Steph really name Caben-Albi after a man who "chatted her up" when she was pregnant?
With regards to her and Jez, they were embroiled in a public spat after their split, and it turned even nastier after she announced her pregnancy.
Tattooed hunk Jez has always questioned his ex-girlfriend’s claims that he is the dad, and he has insisted he has already asked Steph for a DNA test.
A representative for Jeremy has told The Sun Online exclusively that the star has asked, but is still waiting for answers.
The spokesperson told us: “We can confirm Jeremy has approached Steph to ask for a paternity test.
“To which he currently has not had a response.”
Steph and Jez have been embroiled in a public war of words since their high-profile split last year and her pregnancy announcement.
She went public with her baby news shortly after the pair parted ways, insisting her ex-boyfriend is the father.
Jeremy has denied her claims and distanced himself from the TV star, but last week he vowed to step up if he found out the baby is his.
Following the news she had given birth, Jeremy released a statement to say he would “step up” if he was his son, and now it has been claimed he is keen to find out as quickly as possible.
Jeremy said in an exclusive statement to the Sun Online soon after news of the birth broke: “I am delighted that Steph has safely had the baby, of course if he is my son I will absolutely step up and do what I can to support him.
"Any timescale for that is in Steph’s hands now."
However the new mum was quick to hit back at her ex, insisting he had never made contact.
