She won a standing ovation from all four judges, and was covered in gold confetti falling after Amanda Holden elected to send her straight through to the semi-final.
The rising star faced some criticism from viewers who insisted she must be famous, but Sydnie hit back on Lorraine, and revealed the real reason she applied for the ITV show.

"You've never done any of that," Lorraine continued. "You've always wanted to. This is your dream isn't it?"
Sydnie then shared her dreams of performing on the West End stage after years of entertaining tourists on cruise ships.
"I just aspire to, I want to be a leading lady," she said.
"That's the dream! That's the aim."
Lorraine replied: "And so you can be, as we saw there.
"I must admit I'm with Simon Cowell there, you absolutely - gosh, I sound like one of the judges now - made it your own. You really did."
Sydnie gave credit to West End star Marisha Wallace, who recently appeared in the Celebrity Big Brother house.
She said: "The first time I heard that version, Marisha Wallace done that version and I heard it.
"I was like I've got to give this a go. It was just amazing. The song speaks to so many people doing it. Doing it as an adult, doing it the way Marisha done it, has a totally different meaning."
