FROM SOFAS TO SAMBAS

Gogglebox star Nikki Tapper dreams of signing up for Strictly Come Dancing… but that’s the only reality show that will coax her off the sofa

The mum-of-two revealed her 'dream' of becoming a contestant on the dancing show - and has her eyes on Aljaz and AJ to be her partner!

GOGGLEBOX star Nikki Tapper has revealed what it would take for her to leave the show – the chance to appear on Strictly Come Dancing.

Nikki, who stars alongside her husband Jonathan and her children Josh, 19, and Amy, 17, on the commentary reality show, revealed she has no intention to join as a 'fully-fledged' celebrity.

However, she could be convinced to give reality talent shows a try if she could trade in her sofa for a sashay or a samba on the long-running dancing show.

Speaking to The Sun Online at the launch of the BeeGees’ musical You Win Again in Leicester Square on Monday, Nikki revealed that Strictly was the one show that could tempt her away.

“She’s desperate to go on Strictly Come Dancing!” revealed hubby Jonathan, adding: “…But she can’t dance!”

Nikki then quipped back: “I can! Ok…but as long as I got past week one I’d be alright.”

The mum-of-two then admitted that she would want to be taught by Aljaz Skorjanic or newcomer AJ Pritchard, who danced with Olympian Claudia Fragapane in the last series.

She gushed: “But I just think they’re all amazing. All of them. I just love all the dresses and all the – it’s like a production every night!

“Anyway, this is all hypothetical. I can dream!”

Speculation that the family-of-four would soon leave the show started circulating when it was revealed by The Sun Online that they had been signed to a talent agency following the success Scarlett Moffatt received.

The Tapper clan have been part of the show since their first series, and have remained consistent as favourites while others, including gin-swigging Steph and Dom and the newly crowned I'm a Celebrity winner Scarlett, have gone on to do other things in the public eye.

Some fans considered their signing as a signal that they were thinking of moving on as well.

A source told us at the time: “The Tappers are just as funny as Scarlett, and they’re eager to see what else they can turn their hand to.

“Viewers enjoy their dynamic – they might bicker sometimes, but there is a real affection between them, and they’re always laughing.

“They’ve been signed up by Big Talent Group, who also look after Towie star Kate Wright and Emmerdale favourite Gemma Oaten.”

However, despite interest, the family are happy to stay exactly where they are.

Nikki revealed: “We’ve got no plans [to leave the show]. We love doing Googlebox, and we’d have to not be on Gogglebox. We’re quite happy, aren’t we?

Jonathan then quipped back: “And I have to do what she says!”

Nikki then revealed: “We’re 100% doing the next series – it starts in a couple of weeks.”
