Britney Spears finalizes divorce from Sam Asghari nine months after they split as strict prenup protects her assets
BRITNEY Spears has officially settled her divorce with Sam Asghari.
Sam, 30, filed for divorce from the Toxic singer, 42, in August 2023, citing irreconcilable differences.
The outlet also reported that Sam asked Britney to write him a six-figure check following the divorce.
Sam previously accused Britney of cheating on him with a member of staff, which was reportedly captured on video.
He also claimed that she got physical with him during their time together, reportedly hitting him in bed.
Britney's memoir, The Woman In Me, was released on October 24, but did not mention Sam at all.
At the time of the split, rumors emerged that Sam might contest the prenup, but this did not seem to happen.
In August, he requested spousal support and legal fees and it is believed he is hoping Britney will give him a payout for the whole thing to go away quietly.
There was a possibility if she refused his demands, with those close to him claiming he could spill “extraordinarily embarrassing” secrets about her.
The famous hitmaker hired top divorce lawyer Laura Wasser.
“Britney has been pushed around by men her whole life," a source close to Britney revealed.
"She is not going to let it happen again.
“There has been one heartbreak after another in her life but she won’t be taken advantage of this time."
"She will fight for what’s rightfully hers if it comes to that,” the insider concluded.
TURBULENT TIMES
Another insider close to the split couple remarked that “Britney and Sam’s relationship has been a rollercoaster from the start."
“Even on their wedding night - obviously they were meant to spend the night together - but instead Britney went to the Four Seasons in Westlake Village and spent the night with her gay best friend and manager Cade Hudson rather than with Sam."
Westlake Village is the exclusive Los Angeles, California, suburb where Britney lives.
“That immediately started off the marriage on a problematic note," the source added.
"The relationship turned into a ticking time bomb.
“Britney has been telling people that she wanted another baby and to start a family with Sam."
The pop star shares two boys Jayden, 16, and Sean, 17, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, 45.
Kevin and Britney split in 2007.
RELATIONSHIP HISTORY
Britney and Sam were first linked in 2016 when he appeared in Britney's Slumber Party music video.
The couple got engaged in September 2021 and then married the following June.
She ruled to rid Jamie of his daughter's conservatorship, however, it did not mean the end of the conservatorship altogether.
Speaking in court, Judge Brenda Penny said: "Based on what I read in the filings, and I read everything. I do believe the suspension of Jamie Spears is in the best interest of Britney Spears.
"The current situation is unattainable. The court finds the toxic environment Jamie Spears has created needs to be removed today."
Following the judge's decision, a temporary conservator was put in Jamie's place for about a month.
In early November 2021, Jamie was back in court filing new legal documents that show he's done fighting.
Jamie had previously demanded $2 million in exchange for stepping down but documents at the time showed that he was not seeking any further compensation.
On November 12, Judge Penny ruled in favor of the pop star, removing Jamie from the position of conservator without requiring any further mental examination from Britney.
From 2008 to 2021, Britney was under a strict conservatorship with her father because of her public meltdowns in the late 2000s.
When her conservatorship was terminated in 2021, Britney and her sister Jamie still had some disagreements.
