Noughties TV star, 42, has barely aged a day after smash hit show as she reveals friendship with EastEnders star
She is best known for her screen work, but the actress started life as a dancer
IT has been 20 years since she first came to global prominence as the plane crash survivor Claire Littlejohn in the hit TV series Lost.
Now aged 42, actress Emile De Ravin still has the luminous good looks that propelled her to fame all those years ago.
The Aussie-born actress who is now a mother- of-three children, also revealed an unlikely friendship with veteran EastEnders actor, Sean Maguire.
Under a photo of her with Maguire in the back of the car, she wrote:
“No clue where we are here or where we are going, but I do know it was probs fun because we always have a good time. Happy Birthday my friend, love ya.”
Born in Australia, De Ravin was an aspiring ballerina, performing with the Australian Ballet Theatre before she switched to acting, training at the National Institute of Dramatic Art.
After moving to LA at the age of 18, she landed her first role in the teen drama, Roswell, having only been in the US for a month.
Then in 2004 she was cast in the lifechanging role of Claire LittleJohn in the ABC series, Lost.
Speaking about the phenomenal success of the show, Emilie said:
“It’s sort of hard to say. You read something and have a good feeling about it, it sounds great, ties nicely together and then shooting something, editing it, the music, the actors involved, everything sort of plays a huge part. Everyone involved had a great feeling towards it, but you never really know.”
The actress was a series regular for the first four seasons and then for the sixth and final season.
In 2005 she was cast in the neo noir film Brick- a murder mystery set in an American high school. De Ravin played the heroin addicted ex girlfriend of the main protagonist Brendan Frye, played by Hollywood star, Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
