Amy Willerton replaces injured Vogue Williams on The Jump as model is forced to quit days before launch

The model will brave the icy slopes after Vogue was forced to bow out due to a serious knee injury

AMY Willerton has replaced Vogue Williams on The Jump after the model was forced to pull out due to injury.

The Sun exclusively revealed the Irish star, 31, fell heavily during training for the Channel 4 show yesterday seriously damaging her knee.

She sustained the injury while practising for the Ski Cross — which sees celebrities race around a track at speeds of up to 75mph.

Now Channel 4 have confirmed I’m A Celebrity star Amy will replace her, after being a stand-in on the show.

Amy said: "This experience has gone from being an exciting over extended ski holiday to suddenly overnight throwing myself into competition mode - but I'm so so ready for that challenge!

She added: “I hope I can do Vogue proud."

Vogue, who was previously married to Westlife star Brian McFadden is currently out in Innsbruck, Austria, receiving treatment for her injuries.

She was set to compete against the likes of Olympian Sir Bradley Wiggins, ex footballer Robbie Fowler and Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews and had been earmarked as an early favourite.

A source said: “Vogue is absolutely devastated. She was so looking forward to taking part and has been training religiously.

“She’s one of the most competitive of the group and was in with a real chance of winning.

“But she fell very heavily during the ski cross training and really hurt her knee and on doctor’s orders she has had to pull out.”

The show has been described as the “most dangerous” on television after a series of serious injuries to its celebrity contestants in recent years.

The worst of which was Olympic gymnastics hero Beth Tweddle who was left with two fractured vertebrae and needed a painful operation to fuse them back together.

Holby City star Tina Hobley suffered “life-changing” injuries — she broke her arm in two places as well as hurting her knee and shoulder.

And Paul McCartney’s ex wife Heather Mills suffered knee ligament damage, Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington a dislocated shoulder and Made in Chelsea’s Mark Francis Vandelli a fractured ankle after some nasty falls on the slopes.

Previous series have been won by X Factor winner Joe McElderry, Towie star Joey Essex and retired rugby ace Ben Cohen.

A show source said: “Bosses have reviewed the show’s safety standards but accidents are bound to happen. They’re gutted that Vogue is injured as she was a great contestant and a great skier.”

A spokeswoman for Channel 4 told The Sun: “Vogue fell during training for ski cross yesterday injuring her knee which sadly means she can no longer continue in the competition.”
