7 of the biggest soap script blunders of all time from Coronation Street, EastEnders and Emmerdale
Scriptwriters don't always get it right, and here's proof!
SOAPLAND is a strange place where all the drama happens - but unfortunately do mistakes.
The three biggest soaps on television - Coronation Street, EastEnders and Emmerdale - pump out a huge amount of high quality content for viewers' delight, but unfortunately sometimes mistakes happen.
From massive holes in the plot to major continuity errors, these blunders must've baffled viewers.
Take a look back at seven of the biggest blunders in soap history...
Kevin Webster FORGETS his baby's death
The Coronation Street mechanic shocked fans when he appeared to forget his baby's death.
He told daughter Sophie that it “Must be hard burying one of your kids” as he helped her to organise her lover Maddie Heath’s funeral back in 2015.
But scriptwriters had forgotten that Kevin, played by Michael Le Vell, and wife Alison did just that when their days-old tot Jake died from an infection in 2000.
Whitney's wedding veil disappears
When Whitney finally tied the knot with her fiance Lee Carter in EastEnders, viewers spotted a mistake.
The nuptials went smoothly until the wedding party arrived back at the Queen Vic pub for the reception.
The family gathered outside the boozer for the group pictures, and Whitney was seen posing for snaps without her white veil.
However, when she came back into the pub her veil was back on.
The mystery didn't end there because just seconds later her brother Johnny took to the stage to start his speech and the the camera cut to Whitney who was back in her bridal veil.
Rain on a bright blue-skied day
As Emmerdale's most familiar faces gathered for James' memorial service and killer Emma Barton paid tribute to the man she killed, viewers found themselves distracted by the weather.
As the coffin was lowered into the ground, the mourners were pelted with rain but as the camera panned to the villain, it was obvious the downpour was fake as the skies were blue with no clouds.
When Ben forgot her was already deaf
It should have been a tense for EastEnders fans as Ben Mitchell comes up against his captors but the audience were left baffled by what he said.
Ben can be seen sitting on the ground holding his arm after being roughed up by the thugs who were also responsible for his boyfriend Paul Coker’s death.
"It doesn't have to be like this," the ringleader shouts to Ben.
"You and your mate could just walk away..."
To which Ben replied: "So long as I suddenly go deaf, blind and stupid so far as you lot are concerned?"
But the line is completely pointless as Ben is ALREADY deaf.
Heavily pregnant Leanne Battersby gets a back massage
Corrie fans were left baffled when heavily pregnant Leanne Battersby went for a back massage.
The character was expecting a baby after having a secret one night stand with Steve McDonald last year.
Leanne headed for some much needed R&R with her sisters Toyah Battersby and Eva Price, but her choice of treatment perplexed some of the viewers at home.
One wrote on Twitter: "Erm, how did Leanne get a back massage when she is heavily pregnant #Corrie" while another added: "How has Leanne Battersby just laid on her front for a massage?"
A third agreed, writing: "How can you get a back massage with a massive bump?"
Mick Carter's birthday moves
Eagle-eyed viewers pointed out that Mick Carter may have celebrated his 40th birthday on the wrong date in EastEnders .
Soap fans took to Twitter to express their confusion after Danny Dyer's character appeared to make the milestone a week early.
Queen Vic landlord Mick was shown celebrating his big 40th birthday in Friday night's episode.
But some EastEnders fans were puzzled by the date as they checked up online and discovered Mick apparently celebrated his big day on 19th January last year.
They flocked to social media to question whether his birthday is on 19th or nearly seven days earlier on the 13th.
One soap fan wrote: "I could swear Mick Carters Birthday` s on the 19th @bbceastenders #EpicFail... #eastenders #MickCarter
Another tweeted: "It ain't Mick's birthday till the 19th #EastEnders."
A baffled fan added: "I'm confused about Mick's birthday #eastenders."
One even sent a message to BBC bosses about the confusion, writing: "@bbceastenders wait a min Mick's birthday is on the 19th which is on the EastEnders wiki but today is the 13th wtf."
Anna using her crutches the wrong way round
Crutches are so simple to use, they shouldn't need an instruction manual but unfortunately for Corrie's Anna Windass, she got herself into a spot of bother with hers.
Anna, who had to re-learn to walk following the horrifying fireball incident that left her suffering burns all up her legs, was seen hobbling around her living room with great difficultly.
And is it any wonder she found the task difficult as she was using them back-to-front.
