Channel 4’s The Jump in crisis as 11 stars hit by vicious stomach bug and spooky ‘sex ghost’
IN previous years it’s been painful injuries causing headaches for stars of the show.
But this time round their time on the slopes has been ruined by ghosts and vicious stomach bugs.
Nearly all of the contestants have been wiped out by norovirus which they say they picked up from their hotel’s kitchen staff, causing them to miss key training sessions.
And two of the show’s celebrity stars have been forced to change rooms due to what is being referred to on the show as a “sex ghost”.
Everyone on the show except SIR BRADLEY WIGGINS, JOSIE GIBSON and KADEENA COX has been bed-ridden due to the illness ahead of last night’s series opener.
It was spread around by EMMA PARKER BOWLES’ one-year-old daughter, who she has out in Austria with her.
She revealed: “My baby started it actually. She gave it to me. It was some kind of virus.
"It was actually someone in the kitchen that had it.
“Someone who worked in the kitchen. So it’s all the real dedicated breakfast goers that got it.”
AMY WILLERTON, who has stepped in to replace the injured VOGUE WILLIAMS, said: “We were all slowly getting knocked out. Less and less people were coming to training.”
Comic MARK DOLAN added: “We think it was viral the way it came randomly - and it’s been good news for me because I hit my target weight.”
RELATED STORIES
The group’s problems didn’t stop there.
As a result of the paranormal activity Paralympian KADEENA COX and retired rugby ace GARETH THOMAS have both had to ask for new rooms at their central Innsbruck hotel.
Emma, the Duchess of Cornwall’s niece, said: “Ask Kadeena about that. She was penetrated.”
Toughnut Gareth, who turned out 100 times for Wales, said he asked for a room change because he was scared of the walk from the lift.
Asked about the ghost, he said: “She had a ghost going in and out of her.
"She had a sleep thing. She wishes it were a person... It was going in and out of her body.”
He compared their hotel, around an hour from where they skied competitively for the first time last night, as like something out of horror flick The Shining.
He said: “My room was f*****g miles away. It was miles away from an elevator.
"So I wanted to move different floors because when I’m hearing these ghost stories I was at the very, very end and I got scared.
"I’m s******g myself. Seriously.
"I swear it was miles away so I moved down a floor and to the middle because I felt more surrounded then. I felt safer.
“The hotel knows. They said there is a ghost.”
I doubt they put that on the hotel website.
Brad's eyeing acting
Cycling champ SIR BRADLEY WIGGINS always insisted he would never become a celebrity.
But if going on The Jump had not already put a lie to that, the retired Olympian now wants to break into acting like his hero, THE JAM star PAUL WELLER, who made a cameo in BBC drama Sherlock.
Sir Bradley said: “I’d like to do stuff like that, yeah. Whatever comes up.
“A lot of things like that, in the past, I’ve turned down because I just didn’t have time. But now I’ve got time.
“I got asked once to be in a video for The Jam, and to be in EastEnders – I’ve got a family connection with SHANE RICHIE and obviously his character in the show owned the pub.”
Sir Bradley also hinted at developments in the anti-doping investigation against him.
But he denied that he entered The Jump to rebuild his reputation following the saga.
He said: “I didn’t really see it like that.
"I just got to the point where I found out something . . . that was half the reason I did this show.
It’s already started coming full circle. About a month from now it’s going to come full circle.”
