She also admitted Becks, who she considers a friend, has gone down in her estimations since revelations surrounding the gong-obsessed superstar came to light.

Sharon ranted: “The thing that gets me is who does want to be a stupid knight anyway. Who does?

“Only people who are shallow. I am sorry you are still the same person.

“I just think really is that what you were working towards really?

“It is like shame on you – get a life.”

Sharon admitted she was “disappointed” to read about Becks’ X-rated rants about being ignored for the honour.

The ex-Real Madrid star, 41, was frustrated at not bring recognised for his sport and charity work.

A number of European newspapers last week revealed the contents of hacked emails obtained from his PR Simon Oliveira, which included Becks describing the Honours Committee as a “bunch of c****”.

Despite being given the chance to defend the former Manchester United ace, Sharon instead chose to reveal the contents of the emails have altered her opinions of him.

Speaking on The Talk, she said: “I am disappointed.

“I love the Beckhams, always have. I think they are a most amazing couple and when you see a couple like this that have an incredible family and they have both got amazing careers, and then David does all this charity work."

“And if it were, because we don’t know, the case that he was doing this for ulterior motives of getting a knighthood I would be really, really disappointed at that - because I look at him one way.

"Not that my opinion is important, I really respect him.”

However, Sharon did concede that despite Becks’ ulterior motives behind his charity work, the fact he has actually assisted and promoted charities of UNICEF’s standing should be acknowledged.

She said: “It doesn’t matter really why that person is there for ulterior motives or because they genuinely want to make a difference.

“As long as he is there that is what they care about, so I understand that.”

Sharon’s rant on The Talk, screened on Monday in the US, is not the first time she’s questioned the ethics of The Beckhams.

In December, she criticised Posh and Becks for encouraging their youngest son Cruz’s pop career after he released a shock charity Christmas single at the age of 11.

She believed the youngster was far too young to enter the cruel world of the music industry.”
