Nick Grimshaw loses half a million listeners in the last year as Radio One loses a fifth of its audience in five years
The breakfast show host sees a dip along with Chris Evans on Radio Two
NICK Grimshaw has lost half a million listeners over the past year, as Radio One sees a loss of a fifth of its audience over the past five years.
The BBC Radio One breakfast show host has seen a massive dip in his audience, which has gone from 5.9 million to 5.4 million.
The news has been revealed in the latest Rajar stats, which measure radio audiences.
This will be a big blow to the northern presenter, who took over from Chris Moyles in 2012, as he has tried to build up an army of followers, like his predecessor had.

This isn’t the first time Nick has seen a dip in his ratings, the previous year also saw a slight loss.
Radio One will also be feeling the blow from the new figures.
As a whole, they pulled in 11.7 million per week in the last three months of 2011, but in the last quarter of 2016 that number was 9.6 million, a drop of 18%.
