ALESHA DIXON has made her grand return to music, nine years after releasing her last album.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge has dropped a new single called Ransom, which samples Ini Kamoze track Here Comes The Hotstepper, and flew to Jamaica to shoot a video.
But Alesha says her music career is different this time around, as she is doing it all without a record label.
She explained: “It’s expensive putting out music. I’m an independent artist so it’s a lot, energetically, for me to put myself back out there.
“At this point in my life and career, it’s just about what makes me feel good.”
Meanwhile, girl band Say Now drop their new tune Bitch Get Out My Car today, and DJ and producer MK has put out single She’s In The Club.

The Sun reported on Dixon's work trip to the Caribbean, where she filmed her new music video for her latest track.
The TV star shared behind the scenes footage of her dancing in a pair of denim hotpants and a red bikini top.
The star clearly enjoyed being in Jamaica, which is the birthplace of her father Melvin, as she revealed that name of the single in the photo caption: “It’s bout to be a situation.”
Earlier this month The Sun reported on how Dixon’s lunge towards becoming a wellness guru proved to be a step too far.

The singer's supplement brand appeared to have run out of steam.
Alesha launched vitamin brand NobleBlu back in 2020, but now it seems that the business had been quietly dissolved.
The 45 -year-old had high hopes to create a brand that would help people to find their “rhythm and flow.”
But in the end, poor sales left the firm’s creditors with no choice but to wind it up.
“Alesha was really passionate about NobleBlu and put a lot of work into it, although she wasn’t one of the firm’s official directors.
Sadly, it just didn’t take off in the way she had hoped and it has now gone out of business.”
