In a video from his hospital bed, Duncan gave fans an update on his condition.

“Some of you may or may not know I had to go into hospital yesterday, I was admitted to have a correction of a procedure that I had two weeks ago that went a little bit wrong,” he said.

“So I was rushed in and had it all fixed, I was kept in overnight and I’m just waiting to find out if I can go home today – fingers crossed.

“However, it does mean I won’t be able to attend the foodies festival today or the Hits Radio Live in Liverpool today which I’m gutted about because I really wanted to do that but the doctors have told me I need to rest up, I need to heal, I need to make sure everything is good where it should be good.

“So I just want to say I’m sorry if I’ve let anyone down, I am on the mend, I am getting better.”

He promised to keep fans updated with his recovery and thanked them for their support.

This comes after he was ‘surgery shamed’ by vicious trolls last year.

They demanded the Blue singer “leave his face alone” as he posted about getting facial treatment to improve his skin.

One said: “Please leave your face alone, you’re good looking. Too much ruins it.”

“Well u have the money for it,” commented another.

Another troll asked: “Why you look old now?”

A fan hit back saying: “You do realise there’s this thing that happens to people called ageing…”

“It’s when you are privileged enough to live long enough to watch yourself get older. It’ll happen to you too if you’re lucky.”

Duncan was also more than happy with the results, telling fans: “My skin is absolutely glowing.”

Despite the trolling, Duncan’s treatment was not surgical.
