Excitement has been growing in the capital ahead of the superstar's first UK Eras tour show

The pop superstar will perform in front of a sold out crowd in Edinburgh this evening.

Tens of thousands of Swifties have descended on Murrayfield

Earlier, a large convoy of vehicles were seen being escorted by police to the stadium.

Aerial shots from the area showed a fleet of SUVs winding their way through the capital’s streets towards the back of the national rugby stadium.

The motors were being escorted by police, with an officer ahead of the convoy on a motorbike.

Yesterday, four black BMW X5s were spotted coming and going from the plush Waldorf Astoria in the city centre.

Rumours had been swirling that the Shake It Off singer had touched down in Scotland.

Tens of thousands of Swifties have been queuing outside Murrayfield throughout the day.

The diehard fans have braved the fresh weather kitted out with foil blankets, ponchos and sleeping bags.

Some concert-goers have even camped out before the first of Swift’s three shows in Edinburgh.

Fans of the singer-songwriter have travelled from near and far to see their idol, including from Australia and the US.

One superfan admitted that she has capped out since Wednesday, despite strict rules around the Murrayfield’s residential area.

Vendors have also began popping up selling flower crowns, feather boas and cowboy hats for those looking to add even more flair to their glittering gig outfit.

Around 220,000 Swifties are expected to descend on the city for the superstar’s worldwide tour.

The three-night run of shows at Murrayfield are the first to take place in the UK.

VIP ticket holders were granted entry to the stadium at 3pm.

General admission was allowed at 4pm, with the music getting underway at 6pm.

Swift is being supported by the US rock band Paramore, fronted by Hayley Williams.
