John Legend reveals happiness at having baby Luna with Chrissy Teigen following years of struggling to conceive, as he encourages others to have IVF
The couple are doting parents to baby Luna, but it was a long road to happiness
JOHN Legend has encouraged other hopeful parents to consider IVF after he welcomed his daughter Luna with Chrissy Teigen following years of struggling to conceive.
The singer opened up on the pair's difficulties starting a family in a tell-all chat, and admitted he's happy they chose to seek help.
The pair welcomed nine-month-old daughter Luna through In-Vitro Fertilisation, which involved eggs being collected and fertilised in a lab.
Speaking to , he said: "There are some who look down on people that have fertility issues and need to use IVF. We have had fertility issues for years and had to use IVF.
"Some people can't reproduce naturally. We're glad we had Luna the way we did, and hopefully we'll have a few more kids through IVF.
"We think it's a viable issue for people having fertility issues and encourage people that can't have kids the old-fashioned way to do it the way we've done it."
The star added that having "control" over reproduction is an important right for women, in particular choosing when to start a family.
And it comes after Chrissy revealed the couple hope to add to their family in the future using IVF.
She tweeted: "Since this is coming up again, I said our next baby would be a boy because that is the embryo we have left. A boy. So. Yeah.
"And no, I am not pregnant. (sic)"
posted a picture of her inner thigh revealing the marks and captioned the pic: "Whatevs" - which went down as storm for those who felt it promoted healthy body positivity.
Chrissy, 31, became a mum for the first time nine months ago, and has made no secret of the love of her family and the changes her body went through while pregnant.
The picture has been shared more than four-and-a-half thousand times on Twitter as those who suffer from similar issues flood her comments with messages of praise.
One wrote: "this (and your wit) is why you are my favorite"
Another added: "you're real as f***. thanks for reminding everyone that not everyone is 100% flawless (even tho you are and stuff)"
