Jamie Dornan reveals he’s responsible for a Fifty Shades of Grey baby boom
The Northern Irish star said he was approached by a fan who’d got pregnant after watching the film
FIFTY Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan has revealed that the film franchise has led to a baby boom.
The Northern Irish actor stars as S&M enthusiast Christian Grey in the movies, the second of which was released this weekend across the UK.
And speaking on The Graham Norton Show as he promoted the latest instalment, he said the first movie had a huge effect on some of the fans.
Speaking to his host as fellow guests Denzil Washington, Whoopi Goldberg and Keanu Reeves listened, he said one fan even told him she’d conceived right after watching the first movie.
He said: “There was a bit of a baby boom, which is a lovely thing,”
“I was in a lift and was recognised by this woman who said, ‘Oh my god, you’re Jamie Dornan.
“For years my husband and I struggled to conceive a baby, we tried IVF and everything but after your movie came out we made a baby naturally’.
“It was so hard to know how to respond!”
Reeves then joked: “You really want to inspire people with your work!”
The films are based on the erotic novels by E.L. James about Grey and his seduction of college graduate Anastasia Steele.
Dornan, 34, also revealed that he tried to lighten the tension while he and co-star Dakota Johnson were filming the sex scenes.
He said: “There is more sex in the new film and all of us know how awkward sex scenes can be,” he said.
To make everyone laugh I would make silly noises when I had to climax!”
