ADELE was left in tears at the Grammys after demanding to restart an emotional tribute to George Michael.
The singer had opened the ceremony with Hello which went without a glitch.
However a minute into her rendition of George Michael's Fast Love she stopped and swore, before quickly apologising.
As Adele accidentally sang the uncensored version of the line "all this bulls**t conversation", she was thrown off and stopped the performance.
She was clearly distressed about messing up the tribute, and the show silenced out her first line as she apparently muttered "f***", before telling the crowd: "I can't do it again, not after last year, I can't mess this up for him.
"I'm sorry for swearing, I'm sorry [Grammy producer] Ken [Ehrlich].
"I'm going to start again, I'm sorry, I'm sorry for swearing."
The crowd was clearly behind her, with one shouting out: "You've got this!"
She continued on with the song, but was clearly upset and teared up.
But viewers were quick to try and lift the singer's spirits online.
Adele was thrown off her performance after accidentally singing the uncensored version of the line "all this bulls**t conversation".
The show silenced out the start of her speech, when she apparently muttered "f***" and then told the crowd: “I know it’s live TV but I can’t do it again like last year. I’m sorry for swearing and I’m sorry for starting again, can we please start it again, I’m sorry I can’t mess this up for him, I’m sorry I can’t. I’m sorry for swearing, I’m really sorry.”
One tweeted: "When it's live television but you're #Adele so you do what you want to #startover."
Another commented: "Shoutout to Adele for fixing that."
George Michael died last year at the age of 53 from suspected heart failure on Christmas Day.
Later when Adele won a Grammy for Song of the Year 'Hello', she mentioned the blip and apologised for her swearing.
She said: "Thank you very much, thank you. First of all I really do apologise for swearing, George Michael, he means a lot to me."
Meanwhile, the singer scooped up five gongs including Record and Album of the Year, after finally confirming her marriage to Simon Konecki.
It was an emotional evening for Adele and she couldn’t help sobbing after receiving her final award for Album of the Year for 25, commenting that she couldn’t accept the award because she felt it should have gone to Beyonce.
Even the Lemonade singer was struggling to keep back the tears as Adele gave a heartfelt speech praising her.
Speaking about her comeback, she said that it “took an army” to help her get her latest album off the ground.
Adele said: “I struggled and I still do struggle being a mum but this made me feel in some way like I have got some of myself back again.”
But she glanced down to where Beyonce and her family were sitting and said: "I can't accept this award because, for me, Beyonce, Lemonade was amazing.
"It was so monumental and so soul bearing. We saw another side of you that we don't always get to see. We adore you, you are our light. The way you make me feel, and the way you make my black friends feel, is amazing. I love you so much, I always have and always will."
The star later broke her award in solidarity with the pregnant megastar.
