SHEILA Ferguson was one of eight celebrities who headed off to India to see if they could hack retirement abroad.

Who is Sheila Ferguson?

Sheila Ferguson is an American singer, who is most famous for being part of 1970s soul group The Three Degrees.

When the girl group split, Sheila went on to pursue a solo career, and has been seen on numerous TV shows and musicals since.

Born in 1947, the 69-year-old star has also published a cook book and is said to be writing an autobiography.

When was Sheila Ferguson on the Real Marigold Hotel?

Sheila Ferguson joined the Real Marigold Hotel for its second series.

Speaking to the , she admitted she felt lonely when she came back.

She said: "When I got home, I put my suitcase down, closed the door and sat at the head of my 14-seater dining table, alone.
"I was the only one at the hotel who had no one to go back to."

The show, which is inspired by the hit movie, sees Sheila and seven other ageing celebrities travel across India to see if they would be able to hack retiring overseas.

The second series features a new line-up of celebs alongside Sheila, including This Morning’s Doctor Miriam Stoppard, actress Amanda Barrie, Paul Nicholas from ‘80s sitcom Just Good Friends, TV host Bill Oddie, entertainer Lionel Blair, snooker player Dennis Taylor and TV personality Rustie Lee.

The first season, which was broadcast on BBC2 last year, was a hit, attracting a series average of 4.1 million viewers.

When was Sheila Ferguson in the Three Degrees?

Sheila is most well-known for being the second longest serving member of The Three Degrees.

The talented star was first invited to join band members Fayette Pinkney and Janet Harmon in 1966 and remained in the band for 20 years.

She sang lead on many of the group’s popular songs, including the internationally successful When Will I see You Again and Woman in Love.

When was Sheila Ferguson in I'm A Celebrity?

The singer swapped the stage for the jungle in 2004, when she jetted off to be in the fourth series of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!

The star was the third to be eliminated by the voting public, and comedian Joe Pasquale went on to be the eventual winner.

It’s not the only celebrity show she has appeared on.

She also was a celebrity contestant on The Weakest Link, Celebrity MasterChef, Who Wants to be a Millionaire and has appeared on Pointless Celebrities twice, in 2013 and 2014.
