Mums and lonely singles had best tune into the freeview channel at 6.50pm on Valentine's Day

SINGLETONS dreading Valentine’s Day alone have reason to rejoice – Tom Hardy is returning to CBeebies to read a bedtime story.

The ruggedly handsome 39-year-old actor had admirers weak at the knees when he took over pre-school reading show Bedtime Story last December.

Sitting on a roof terrace surrounded by stuffed toys and his own pet dog Woodstock at his side, Tom reads from Tom McLaughlin’s book The Cloudspotter.

“Cloud spotting with a best friend is definitely more enjoyable. Especially if your best friend is a dog,” Tom says as he reads wearing a quilted red coat and stroking his four legged friend.

“I’m spending Valentine’s Day with Tom Hardy!!!” exclaimed another.

While another still, with a slightly explicit tone, added that there is nothing Tom couldn’t read that wouldn’t leave her excited, commenting: “he could read the microwave cooking instructions to a cottage pie and I’d still be on the floor unable to use my legs.”

Another Twitter user even revealed a longing for the A List star to read more adult material, tweeting: “When are they going to have him read 50 Shades for us mums?!”

Last time Tom appeared on the children’s entertainment show there were similar levels of hysteria.

One fan tweeted at the time (when Tom read You Must Bring A Hat by Simon Phillip and Kate Hindley): “Just watched Tom Hardy read the bedtime story on #cbeebies. I’m now pregnant.”
