After mounting speculation, bookmakers William Hill have suspended betting on the band appearing at the five-day festival.

The band was formed in Leicester back in 1997.

It consists of singer and guitarist Sergio Pizzorno, bassist Chris Edwards, drummer Ian Matthews and guitarist Tim Carter.

They took off with their self-titled debut album in 2004.

Kasabian have achieved six UK Number 1 albums, with all but their first studio album hitting the top spot.

In 2020, lead vocalist Tom Meighan left the band, with lead songwriter and guitarist Sergio becoming the band's newest frontman.

They've enjoyed huge success at home and internationally and even headlined Glastonbury Festival in 2014.

Elsewhere other rock bands including Pulp, The Killers, Green Day and The xx are also tipped to make an appearance.

They will be in good company with a host of famous singers gracing the stage.

Dua Lipa will be the first headliner of the weekend - performing on the Pyramid Stage on Friday June 28, 2024.

This will be the star's first Glastonbury appearance in seven years, last performing in 2017.

Speaking to the BBC, she said the show occupied "50% of my thoughts".

She added: "I’ve got to figure out a way to make 150,000 people feel like they’re in a small little nightclub.

"That’s the goal, and if there’s one place to do it, it’s got to be Glasto."

Coldplay will be taking to the Pyramid Stage on the Saturday.

It will mark the band’s first appearance since 2016 and will make them the first act to headline Glastonbury five times.

Iconic Noughties band returning with huge homecoming show and new album

They headlined in 2002, 2005, 2011 and 2016.

The band also played the New Tent in 1999 and The Other Stage in 2000.

This comes as frontman Chris Martin previously revealed Coldplay would stop making music in 2025.

He said in 2021: "Well I know I can tell you: our last proper record will come out in 2025 and after that I think we will only tour.

"Maybe we’ll do some collaborative things but the Coldplay catalogue, as it were, finishes then."

SZA, whose real name is Solana Imani Rowe, will be singing on the Sunday night of the festival weekend.

Many will known her for her two studio albums, three EPs, one live album and 44 singles.

The musician featured on Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy-winning album To Pimp A Butterfly in 2015 before finding her own fame after the success of her debut album CTRL in 2017.

The album earned her five Grammy nominations, with singles The Weekend and Love Galore going platinum.

Shania Twain will be taking on the legends slot on Sunday night.

The Canadian singer is best known for hits including Man I Feel Like A Woman, You're Still The One and That Don't Impress Me Much.

It's already been rumoured that she might change the lyrics of one of her smash hits for the occasion.
