Cold Feet star James Nesbitt has another hair transplant – and claims treatment boosted his career
The actor says he’s gained a range of lead roles in hit dramas and Hollywood blockbusters since having the implants
COLD Feet star James Nesbitt has revealed he has had another hair transplant – saying the treatment has transformed his career.
The actor, 52, says he’s gained a range of lead roles in hit dramas The Missing and The Secret as well as Hollywood blockbuster The Hobbit since having the implants.
He said: “I’ve just had my last one. The guy who does it is a genius.”
James is believed to have started having treatment for his balding head in 2009 and undergone a total of three procedures.
His Cold Feet co-stars last year jokingly referred to his character Adam’s “new do” after suddenly returning with hair after the show’s 13-year absence.
He told The Radio Times: “I was very happy to be open about it. I just thought, ‘Come on, somebody is going to say it before I say it’.
“It was something I struggled with. And that was probably the vanity in me.

“But also career-wise it had an impact; in terms of the range of leading roles I’ve had since then it’s probably helped.”
The actor never acknowledged his decision to have a hair transplant until 2013, having previously posed for pictures at Sundance in 2009 with the first signs of his treatment.
He said then: “Several years ago, I began losing my hair and like a lot of men it was a major concern to me, in fact it was practically an obsession.
“But, also I’m an actor so I’m in the public eye a lot and I really felt that my hair loss could affect my career prospects.
“So, after many agonies and a great amount of thought and believe me it’s something I didn’t take lightly, I took the decision to visit Hair restoration Blackrock [a hair transplant clinic in Dublin].”
