star proved she was as busy as ever and revealed that on top of The Real Marigold Hotel, which premieres tonight, she had been to Tel Aviv to shoot another television series - trying out segways while she was over there.

When Lorraine expressed her shock at her ability to use the two-wheeled motorized vehicle, Amanda blurted out: "I was an expert. Oh darling! I was so s*** hot on it I can't tell you!"

The pair then both realised the mistake and as Lorraine apologised through giggles for the language Amanda also added: "Oh, I'm so sorry! Sorry!"

The first season, which was broadcast on BBC2 last year, was a hit, attracting a series average of 4.1 million viewers.

However, despite her participation on the show, Amanda revealed to the Scottish TV host she has no intention of retiring any time soon - and even if she did, it wouldn't be in India.

She said: "I couldn’t retire in India. The one setback for me was I was ill. I was the first, but everybody else followed."

While denying she got 'Delhi belly' while over there, she said: "We were fed by the most wonderful chef and I spent my time – didn’t eat a curry the entire time I was there."

She then added: "You get these strange things that knock you over. In fact I was knocked over in the middle of a yoga class, crawled off and cried because I realised I got vertigo."

Amanda then revealed she spent a lot of her time curled up in bed listening to BBC Radio Two's Jenny Murray and The Archers.

But despite illness, Amanda said the people made the trip worthwhile.

She said: "I hadn’t gone with any expectations of what India was going to be like - and the great thing about it was being with people of one's own age in that situation. We just had a ball.

"We more than bonded. We were a ridiculous group. We had a wonderful, lovely time and we laughed. A LOT."

The Real Marigold Hotel premieres tonight at 9pm on BBC1.
