It is not yet known when the spot will be aired, and whether or not it will be part of the Late Late Show, where it has become famed, or in the brand new Apple TV series turning the ten-minute bit part into a sixteen episode series.

The first trailer for the series dropped earlier this week - and promises to be bigger and better than ever with a host of megastars.

For those who don't know, the concept is simple: James gets in a car, picks up a 'random' passenger (typically a triple-A pop artist) in order for him to speed through using an 'eco-friendly' carpool lane and drives off.

En route to their destination - usually CBS studios - James pops on some of their music, they sing along together and hilarity ensues.

The show is promising to be something not to miss - and will create a series of strange and wonderful combinations in the process.

So many celebs want in on the spot that he even did a successful, impromptu Carpool Karaoke when he performed at the Grammys.

High-strung comedian Billy Eichner - who has become famed for his confrontational 'talk show' Billy on the Street - appears to meet his match in the metal band Metallica.

Basketball legend Shaquille O'Neal partners up with wrestling icon John Cena and the macho pair wind up behind the counter of a bakery.

Alicia Keys and John Legend appear to create a collab made in heaven with by crashing a launderette with a gospel choir.

And then there's James - who is naturally going to perform with a whole brass band in the middle of the street with Will Smith.

The feature is a staple of Corden's show now, but it actually started as a hilarious sketch for Comic Relief with George Michael back in 2011.

In the original sketch, the pair hurl insults at each other in the car before singing along to Wham!'s I'm Your Man.

After the tragic news of George's death on Christmas Day rocked the world, Corden paid an emotional tribute to the singer his The Late Late Show.

“We had come up with this idea to have me and George Michael sitting in a car, and it was the first time I had ever sung in a car with anybody," he said.
